Where the Saints Have Trod II
A walking retreat, with three pilgrimages to the holy sites of Yorkshire, sauntering with the saints.
First day a walk from Ampleforth via Stanbrook Abbey to the twelfth century Rievaulx Abbey, the home of St Aelred. On the second day a walk to Whitby Abbey, where St Hilda was Abbess also in the seventh century, and the third day a walk to the church at Lastingham, where Ss Cedd and Chad were monks in the seventh century.
Each day we will begin the morning with prayer, depart on our trips after Mass, fill the day with walking, stops for prayer, song and a picnic lunch, and return to the Abbey for Vespers and a convivial evening reflection. The walks are for those able and willing to take on four to five hours, eight to ten miles, up hill and down dale.
Full board and light refreshments are included
