Ampleforth Abbey is set in over 1,200 acres of land in the Howardian Hills, a designated National Landscape, with the North York Moors National Park to the north. The estate boasts an array of parkland, woodland and lakeside walks in a tranquil and relaxed environment.
The flower beds and Memorial gardens surrounding the Abbey can also be enjoyed, and are tended to by the monastic community.
We welcome walkers and cyclists all year round. They are welcome to use our visitor car park, and the public toilets in the our Visitor Centre. These are accessible via the rear entrance 7am-7pm. The Tea Room is open daily for refreshments 10am-5pm in Spring/Summer and Weds-Sun 11am-3pm in Autumn/Winter.
