Retreat Accommodation
Ampleforth Abbey welcomes all guests to experience a safe and comfortable stay, with a variety of retreat accommodation and facilities to suit every need.
Across our three purpose-built retreat buildings we have single, double, and twin rooms, most of which have an en-suite and others with a shared bathroom. All rooms have a desk, and you are very welcome to make yourself completely at home.
We are delighted to now be able to offer fully accessible accommodation, and our Hospitality team will be able to help find the right room for you.
All rooms have access to tea and coffee making facilities, or to a kitchenette with a fridge. You will also have access to welcoming communal areas across the site, a library, and of course, the beautiful valley.
Dormitory Accommodation
From March 2024, we are able to offer newly refurbished group accommodation in Alban Roe House. With a mix of dormitory and en-suite rooms, we can accommodate groups of up to 60 comfortably.
Ampleforth Abbey shares the site with Ampleforth College. Please be sure to observe signs demarcating campus boundaries of the College, the grounds and playing fields of which are closed to the public.
Meals
All guests are very welcome to take advantage of a full board retreat, which includes both a hot and cold selection buffet breakfast and a two-course lunch and supper. You can also book-in for meals that fit with your individual stay.
Meals are served in the Newman Room, and are taken with other retreatants – though there is no obligation to eat with others, and you are welcome to eat alone or with your group.
All dietary requirements can be catered for – simply let the Hospitality team know when you book.
