    Housekeeping Assistant

One of my favourite things about working here is the people. I’ve worked here 10 years and what really sticks with me is the caring atmosphere here, full of genuine people.

If you’re having a bad day, it’s soon noticed, and someone will always offer you a friendly ear or a cup of tea. I really feel like when I come to work I’m valued and listened to, which is great.

Housekeeping helps me stay active, which is important to me as I couldn’t work at a desk all day. I’ve also enjoyed getting to know the guests who frequently visit and have gotten to know me in return over the years.

There are also great benefits to the job, most important to me is the good pension scheme and full company sick pay.

Although it sounds like a cliché, the people here have become like a family who I can really be myself around, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

I have felt such a sense of community in this role, working towards something greater than ourselves with a truly special team.

I'm very thankful for the opportunity to work here as I have learnt so much from the experience and have met some amazing people too!

For me, what I like most about working here is the relaxed atmosphere. It's lovely to come to work somewhere and not feel pressured all the time.

I also really appreciate the flexibility on offer. If I've had an appointment for example, it's never been a problem to change my shift.

One other thing that you don't often find in our industry is the sociable working hours. After many years of all hours of the day - late shifts, 12-hour shifts, every weekend, the Christmas period - in a hospital and then a care home, it's fantastic to get a lie-in on a weekend!
