FR EDWARD’S FUNERAL
Fr Edward encountered many people in the 92 years of his life and it is perfectly understandable that many would like to attend his monastic funeral. As you will respect this is first and foremost an occasion for his brethren and immediate family to pray for his soul and say farewell.
Because of the potential large numbers wanting to attend we have had to limit the number who can enter the Abbey Church. There will be a further Requiem Mass in London in January 2025. There will be people who will be disappointed not to be able to attend, but the reception of the body and the Requiem Mass will be live-streamed, which enables many more to join in our prayers for the soul of Fr Edward.
Spaces have been allocated at the Requiem Mass for the Community, visiting priests, immediate family, staff and close friends. The remaining places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum of two tickets per family. No one will be allowed to enter the Abbey Church who has not been allocated a seat so please understand this and respect our decision. If you do not have a booking reference, I am sad to say that it will not be possible for you to attend in person.
